How did you come to know Christ?
I gave my life to Christ in the spring of 2000. After a long period of substance abuse following college I had a traumatic experience that almost took my life. After that I realized I had to change and God brought me to my knees in submission and repentance. My life since that day has never been the same. I now live with a higher purpose to glorify God through my actions words and deeds.
Why do you work for FCA?
I work for FCA because I believe so strongly in its' mission of reaching athletes and coaches for Jesus through the vehicle of sport. In addition, I was directly impacted by FCA when I worked as a wrestling camp clinician for the Arizona FCA summer camp in Flagstaff from 2004-2006. Without FCA there would be a large void of Christ's presence in the world of sports. FCA truly is the heart and soul of sports.
What’s your vision for FCA?
My vision for FCA is to simply bring the good news of the gospel to more coaches, campuses and athletes in the East Valley. I envision an ever increasing number of coaches and athletes who now compete for the glory of God instead of for their own selfish desires.
Coach who impacted you the most and why?
Coach Mike Polz, my high school wrestling coach. None of my coaches really ever gave me spiritual direction however Coach Polz by example showed me what hard work, discipline and perseverance can help you achieve. Quite honestly I didn't really like Coach Polz much while I was wrestling because he demanded so much from you. But after I graduated and became more mature I began to quickly realize how valuable those character traits really were.
