ASU senior Sarah Reaves may be leaving the Sun Devil volleyball courts behind, but she won't be forgetting the lessons learned on them.

A kinesiology major, Reaves not only holds ASU's seventh best career record in kills with 1,308, but she also is part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Now that volleyball is over, Reaves still plans on using her faith.

"I now actually have time to share my faith with so many other people out there, whereas with volleyball it was somewhat restricted to my teammates who I saw almost six hours a day. I plan to use my faith in any way that shows up, whether it be with an unbelieving friend, or speaking to high school kids about what it was like to play at ASU as a Christian," said Reaves.

Even though Reaves was introduced to FCA back in high school she no longer participated once she got into college.

"It wasn't until last year that I attended the very last meeting of the year. What encouraged me was a growing faith and the opportunity to meet and hang out with amazing people. I've led at this past summer camp and had the most amazing time!" Reaves said.

In the short amount of time that Reaves has been part of the FCA again she has realized what a great source of friendships and mentors it can be- it is these relationships that have shaped her experience the most.

"It has also been a great way to inspire new growth as a Christian." Reaves said, "There have been opportunities like summer camp that have had an amazing effect on my faith that I couldn't have gotten anywhere else. It has made my college experience much more fun, to be honest."

Reaves recommends fellow athletes to get involved with the FCA.

"My advice is to go out and have a good time. Don't be afraid to meet people and throw yourself out there." Reaves said, "Get involved with meetings, camps, and any other volunteer opportunities, it is definitely worth it."
